The Indictment alleges that Quintel Martins, 27, of Drexel Hill, DeAndre Jackson, 23, of Newark, Deleware and Christopher Winfield, 22, of Wilmington, Delaware, committed an armed robbery of a Wawa in Wayne, Pennsylvania on June 17, 2019, Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said.

It is also alleged that the trio committed an armed robbery of a Wawa in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania on Sept. 14, 2019, Williams said.

During these two robberies, the men are charged with stealing a total of more than $7,800 and other items, Williams said.

On Oct. 2 of that year, law enforcement stopped a car carrying Martins, Jackson, and Winfield in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, and found the trio in possession of items such as masks, firearms and gloves, similar to those used in the robberies, Williams said.

“The conduct alleged in the Indictment displays an appalling disregard for the safety of others,” Williams said.

“The employees of these stores were just going about their daily business when they were allegedly terrorized at gunpoint. No one should have to go through that. This Indictment is an example of how our office is working to keep Philadelphia and its neighboring communities safe.”

Martins and Winfield were charged with multiple counts of robbery and firearm offenses by a criminal complaint in January whereas Jackson was arrested Tuesday on the same charges and will make his initial appearance in federal court the first week of March.

If convicted, each man faces a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment.

The case was investigated by Collingdale Police Department, Philadelphia Police Department, Radnor Police Department, Upper Darby Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Jayne.
